Welcome To The PT Unicorn
Hi there! My name is Justin and welcome to the PT Unicorn! Why the name PT unicorn? Well, I kind of stumbled upon it when an interviewer told me I was a unicorn in this field of content creation. Being a healthcare provider who enjoys writing and creating content is not as common as you may think; therefore PT unicorn was born.
This website has been a place for me to reflect, write down my thoughts, and engage the more creative side of my mind. To talk all things mindfulness. As a therapist who helps improve the quality of lives of others, this website has been a form of therapy for me. An avenue to improve the quality of my life.
Through writing I am able to seperate myself from my thoughts, observe them as they are, and let them go. There is absolutely no theme to these posts. I usually just write whatever I’m currently thinking, reflecting, or excited about. Mindful matters if you will. I hope you enjoy reading as much as I’ve enjoyed writing.

Where It All Began
In 2021, I hit rock bottom. My unmanaged chronic stress had taken its toll, and I developed eczema, an autoimmune skin condition, for the very first time in my life. What’s crazy to think about is I actually had the power to create all of this myself, and I had my stress to thank for it. And with mindfulness, I eventually learned I had the power to uncreate it too. One of my favorite practices has been writing. Writing is an outlet for me. And I hope you will see the authenticity in my posts, and perhaps connect with them yourself.
You may be wondering how a physical therapist like myself got into writing? I mean, don’t all clinicians HATE writing notes? Well, you’re not wrong… I use writing as a way to separate myself from my thoughts, observe them as they are, and let them go. I have always considered myself a creative person, with a creative mind. And writing helps me express this.
Through writing I am able to safely and freely express my thoughts and feelings. Not always an easy thing to do I might add. But ultimately it is a form of therapy for me. On the PT Unicorn, you will get a deeper dive into what makes me, well me. An insight into what’s on my mind. Mindful matters if you will.
