Mindfulness Is Power

They say, knowledge is power. And I argue, mindfulness is power. Knowledge is important, but most of us don’t understand our knowledge. Hear me out. Throughout our lives, we try to gather as much knowledge as possible. But many of us go our entire lives not knowing how to use this knowledge. And why you ask? Because we don’t understand it. We don’t have the mindfulness to understand this knowledge. In order to understand it, we have to repeat it. Many of us understand this concept on a superficial layer, but never dive deeper to fully comprehend it. You may be thinking what mindfulness is?

Mindfulness is our ability to be fully engaged in the present moment. Mindfulness brings us out of thoughts of the past, and fears of the future. One of my favorite quotes, “the quality of your next moment is dependent on the quality of this moment”, really represents this idea well. Now the cool thing about mindfulness is it doesn’t happen over night. Change is only possible with repetition. With repetition, we gain an understanding of what it is we are trying to learn. And as we discussed earlier, in order to understand knowledge, we have to repeat it.

So there you have it, if knowledge is power, and knowledge is only understood with repetition, then in fact, mindfulness is power. Mind blown 🙂
